| spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This article presents the results of research conducted among the staff of a financial institution in Medellín, based on recent studies revealing that more than 80% of bank employees suffer from stress-related burnout. The objective of the study was to analyze the relationship between burnout syndrome and indicators of distress such as stress, depression, and anxiety in a sample of 60 bank employees. A quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional design was used, employing two instruments: the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the DASS-21 scale to assess and measure burnout and negative emotional states. Among the most significant findings, it was observed that 55% of the sample reported high levels of risk of depersonalization based on frequency. Furthermore, a correlation of 0.76 was found between this depersonalization and emotional exhaustion. On the other hand, personal accomplishment acts as a key protective factor against the aforementioned negative effects. It is concluded that burnout syndrome is not an isolated phenomenon, but rather interacts with anxiety and depression in a chain reaction that affects mental health. Conversely, personal fulfillment positively influences the emotional and psychological state of employees. It is suggested that this research serve as a basis for visualizing, within companies, the negative effects of pressure and work overload, while also promoting recognition strategies that strengthen the sense of accomplishment within teams. | spa |
