People with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) experience adverse neurobiological situations that affect their neurodevelopment process, which results in the presence of cognitive impairments that can be explained by the morphostructural changes that the nervous system undergoes due to alcohol consumption. This review seeks to answer three questions: What are the structural alterations suffered by the brain of a child with APS? What are the cognitive impairments that occur in children with APS? and What are the disorders, syndromes or problems that arise from APS? For this purpose, a bibliographic review was carried out in specialized databases, obtaining updated and supported information from findings in neuroanatomical, neurophysiological and neuropsychological studies. The results allow us to correlate the cognitive impairment of the syndrome with the morphological alterations, highlighting impairments mainly in fronto-parietal regions which allow us to explain the disorders or syndromatic conditions derived in childhood.spa
